When you install Microsoft« Internet Explorer 3.02, you will receive the highest level of protection possible whenever you use credit cards or make other financial or confidential transactions over the Internet. When you use the 128-bit version of Internet Explorer in a secured connection with a bank, brokerage house, online merchant, or anyone else who has 128-bit capabilities, the information in the exchange is scrambled into the toughest-to-crack code available in the industry today.
To begin using the Microsoft« Internet Explorer you may either double click on "The Internet" icon on your desktop or go to Programs in the Start menu,, and click on Internet Explorer. Your first stop will be the MCI Internet homepage.

Microsoft« Internet Mail and News

Microsoft« Internet Mail provides you with a complete and easy to use electronic mail system on your desktop. Microsoft« Internet Mail allows you to: send and receive e-mail, reply and forward messages you receive, attach files to your messages, store messages in a friendly filing system, automatically update e-mail addresses in your address book, and much more!
To send and receive e-mail, go to the Start menu, then Programs, and click on Internet Mail. When the Microsoft« Internet Mail application has loaded, click on the Send and Receive button and Internet Mail will send any e-mail in your Outgoing folder and receive any e-mail from MCI Internet.
Microsoft« Internet Mail incorporates a variety of features that make using e-mail easier. For example, Inbox Assistant manages your messages according to rules you create. You can also sort mail on a variety of columns, and configure the columns used to display messages. Message organization is easy with the ability to sort messages in folders and easily move them to and from the file system. There is also an address Book with distribution lists, searching, and sorting functions that enable you to keep commonly used e-mail addresses at your fingertips.
Microsoft« Internet News supports full participation in Internet newsgroups. Newsgroups provide an avenue for exchanging ideas, information, and opinions in an informal forum. To access Microsoft Internet Mail and News, double click on the Internet Mail and News icon located in the Microsoft Internet Applications folder. Or, if you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, simply click the Mail or News button on the toolbar.

When you register for MCI Internet, a local access number will be automatically selected and configured in your dialer. To avoid long distance charges, please verify that this number is the best local access number for your area. Please check the updated list at www.mci2000.com/localaccess and, if necessary, reconfigure the number in your dialer.
Please remember that you will need to reconfigure your dialer with the appropriate local access number whenever you move to a new location. Updated local access numbers are available at www.mci2000.com/localaccess or by dialing 1-888-MCI-HTTP.
To change the phone number in your dialer, please follow these steps:
1. Click on the My Computer icon on your desktop.
2. Open the Dial-Up Networking folder then click on the MCI Internet icon.
3. Under the File menu, select the Properties option and change the telephone number to the appropriate access number for your region.
4. Click OK.
